A safe, caring environment where children can learn, explore, and grow with confidence.
At Grosse Pointe Nursery School, your child's safety and well-being are at the heart of everything we do. From secure building access and trained staff to daily health practices and emergency preparedness, we are committed to providing families with peace of mind every day.

Providing a safe and secure learning environment begins with controlled access to our campus and continues through every part of the school day. During school hours, all exterior doors remain locked to help ensure that only authorized individuals can enter the building.
*Doors may be temporarily unlocked during approved church ministry activities or special events. During these times, our staff continues to monitor the building and maintain the safety of our students.Once the school year begins, each enrolled family receives a secure key card that provides access through the main office entrance. Visitors and anyone without a key card are welcomed through the office by using the call button, allowing staff to verify and assist each guest before granting entry.
Parents escort their child directly to the classroom each morning, ensuring a safe and smooth start to the day. At dismissal, children are released only to parents or adults listed on the authorized pick-up form. Identification required.
To further enhance campus safety, security cameras monitor each classroom and outdoor play area, and our fully fenced playground provides a secure environment for children to learn, explore, and play.

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and known throughout the school day.
Children are never left unattended and are supervised at all times by caring, qualified staff. Each classroom is led by a dedicated lead teacher and supported by an assistant teacher, ensuring children receive consistent guidance, encouragement, and age-appropriate supervision during learning activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions throughout the day.
Our classrooms are intentionally designed to provide a nurturing environment where children can confidently explore, learn, and grow.

A healthy environment helps children thrive.
We follow established health practices to promote the well-being of every child while helping reduce the spread of illness within our school community.
Our health and wellness practices include:
Illness guidelines for children and staff
COVID-19 procedures as appropriate
Daily classroom cleaning and sanitizing
Regular cleaning and disinfecting of toys and learning materials
Nightly cleaning of the facility
Families are encouraged to keep children home when they are ill, helping us maintain a healthy environment for everyone.
