Christa Fegan

GPNS Director
CFegan@YourGPNS.org

Hello! My name is Christa Fegan, and I am honored to serve as the Director of Grosse Pointe Nursery School. My passion for working with young children began when I was in elementary school, though I didn’t realize at the time how God was shaping that passion into a lifelong calling to teach and serve children and families.

My journey in education has taken me through many different seasons and experiences. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma. While there, I had the opportunity to teach at the university’s elementary school, eventually serving as the lead teacher for grades 3–6. I later returned to my home state of California, where I continued teaching before moving to Michigan with my husband, Andrew.

After becoming a mother to our children, Connor and Hope, I stepped away from the classroom for a season to focus on my family. During that time, God continued to prepare me for the next steps in my educational journey. While living in Missouri, I worked with children with special needs and earned my Special Education certification. After returning to Michigan, I continued serving in education, including leading another preschool program.

I am grateful for the winding path the LORD has led me on and for the opportunity to serve at Grosse Pointe Nursery School, a place I have loved as a member of Crosspointe Christian Church for over 20 years. It is a privilege to partner with families during such an important and exciting season of their children’s lives.

Kala Clark

Administrative Assistant
Office@YourGPNS.org

Hi! I’m Kala Clark, the Administrative Assistant at Grosse Pointe Nursery School, where I’ve had the joy of serving our community for 19 years. A U.S. Navy veteran with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, I have the unique privilege of supporting our wonderful staff, parents, and students every single day—and it truly brings my heart so much joy.

GPNS holds a special place in my personal life, too: my husband of 30 years and I sent both of our now-adult children here for preschool! Outside of work, I love traveling, reading, attending concerts, and spending quality time with my family. Whether you have a quick question or need a hand, I am always just a phone call, email, or open door away!

Julie Ressler

Lead Teacher

My name is Julie Ressler, and I am excited to be part of the Grosse Pointe Nursery School team. I have been serving at GPNS for ten years, first as an assistant teacher for six years and now as the lead teacher in the Beginner’s Preschool classroom for the past four years.

Before joining GPNS, I owned and operated a licensed in-home daycare for nearly eight years, where I developed a deep love for caring for and teaching young children. I earned my Associate in Arts degree from Ferris State University and my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Rochester Christian University.

I have been part of the Crosspointe Christian Church family for many years, attending for over 20 years and serving as a member for about 16 years. I have been married to my husband, Michael, for 26 years, and we have two adult children, Ian and Lilly. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and our two Shih Tzu dogs.

I truly love helping children have a positive first school experience. These early years are such an important time for learning, building friendships, and gaining confidence. My goal is to create a warm and encouraging classroom where children feel loved, supported, and equipped with the skills they need as they grow.

Kimberly Norfolk

Lead Teacher

Hello! I’m Mrs. Kimberly Norfolk, and I’m thrilled to be your child’s Preschool teacher at GPNS.

I’ve spent the last five years helping little learners explore, imagine, and grow, and it truly fills my heart. My classroom is a place of joy, love, and kindness, all while teaching them the love of Christ Jesus! I’ve earned my Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies, and I’m currently working toward my CDA certification because I believe in always learning right alongside my students.

When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll probably find me reading a good book, enjoying music, and spending time with my family.

Shantee Murry

Lead Teacher

I am excited to be part of the Grosse Pointe Nursery School team and to continue serving children and families through early childhood education. My passion for working with young children began in high school and has continued to grow throughout my career. I have worked in early childhood education for six years and am entering my third school year at GPNS. After serving as an assistant teacher for one year, I am excited to begin my second year as a lead teacher.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Youth in Society from Michigan State University and am currently pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Rochester Christian University. My education and experiences have helped shape my understanding of children’s development and the importance of creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued.

My faith is an important part of who I am. I was raised attending New Christ Temple Church of God in Christ and joined Crosspointe Christian Church a little over a year ago.

I am one of six siblings and the only daughter in my family. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and playing with my six-year-old Goldendoodle, Ryder.

I love creating a classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. It is a privilege to encourage their curiosity, celebrate their accomplishments, and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Building meaningful relationships with children and their families is one of the most rewarding parts of my work, and I look forward to another wonderful year of learning and growing together.
